COVID-19: Important Information

The Royal Shakespeare Company currently remains closed to visitors.

One of the world’s best-known theatre ensembles, the Royal Shakespeare Company performs the works of Shakespeare, his contemporaries and new writing, throughout the year in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Showcasing two thrust stage auditoria, the 1,000 seat Royal Shakespeare Theatre and 450 seat Swan Theatre, bring audiences and actors closer together in the best possible setting to experience live theatre.

As well as performances of Shakespeare’s works there are various tours available at the Royal Shakespeare Company and also a fantastic exhibition, ‘The Plays The Thing’. Take a magical journey through 100 years of theatre-making in Stratford-upon-Avon. On display are stunning costumes and props from the archives as well as a rare copy of Shakespeare’s first folio.
